WebRogoff has taken on the ambitious task of redefining the field of cognitive psychology from a sociocultural viewpoint. It is not clear whether this goal will be achieved. However, she has built upon a grow ing field of research in developmental psychology which relates to the role of sociocultural factors in the development of cognitive processes.
