The ciruit uses an ADC with a 2.5 V refererence and thus the logical choice of a ready made 2.5 reference. A 7 V reference would need an extra divider to get down to some 2.5 V (may work with 3.5 V if you are lucky) and the divider would add some possible source of drift.

I have built 2 complete DIY-SMUs so far. I'm getting ready to build the 'final' Rev2 Main boards and Rev3 Amp boards. Jaromir has designed a very nice take on this project and has built a couple of units. fairycore websites

http://www.djerickson.com/synth/synth3.html WebDec 31, 2024 · For an application, I need a bipolar voltage amplifier, with the capability to measure output current. The classic scenario would be to just use an opamp and shove a current shunt in series with the output. Problem then is, that the shunt is floating with the output voltage, requiring very well balanced differential amplifier with very high CMRR. WebApr 4, 2024 · Re: DIY-SMU Project. One important feature of SMU and V/I instrument is glitch-free range-switching: no voltage drop or voltage glitch during up-range-switching, no voltage overshot or voltage glitch during down-range-switching. This is valid for both current range-switching and voltage range-switching. And it takes very short time to finalize ... do it yourself home generator
